Villa Il Poggiale and the Family Antinori
Since 2003 the Villa il Poggiale has collaborated most successfully with the Marchesi Antinori Chianti wine empire. Their Historical Cellars as well as their Restaurants in Chianti and Florence all welcome Villa il Poggiale guests with open arms and V.I.P. treatment on our wine tour.
Take your visit to Tuscany to beautiful extremes.
Experience the warm hospitality and elegant atmosphere of the Villa il Poggiale, explore the medieval hamlet of Badia a Passignano and the historical Antinori cellars and La Bottega and L’Osteria restaurants. One of the most important estates in the history of Chianti (a thousand year old vitis vinifera plant has been discovered on the Badia a Passignano land) the estate is usually closed to the public but our guests can visit the vineyards and beautiful abbey surrounds.
Villa Il Poggiale and the Family Corsini
Only minutes by car from Villa Poggiale lies Villa Le Corti – one of Tuscany’s finest Renaissance country residences. Purchased by the Corsini family in 1427 and once home to painter and architect Santi di Tito this imposing rectangular palace dominated by twin towers contains frescoes by Bernardino Poccetti and is surrounded by beauty, centuries old cypress trees line the park and an embankment in the garden conceals three tiers of cellars and an olive oil store. Dedicate time to sampling the extra virgin olive oil and indulge in the wine accompanied by produce from the farm. Princess Clotilde still ensures culinary lessons are attended in the enormous 17th Century Villa kitchen. Revisit the Renaissance
Castello Sonnino is one of the few untouched dwellings in Tuscany . It is now the home of the Baron Alessandro e Baroness Caterina de Renzis Sonnino . The thirteenth-century tower, symbol of the territory of Montespertoli , overlooks the valleys of the Florentine Chianti. Here, for over two centuries, the Sonnino family has been producing wines and extra-virgin olive oil of remarkable character, fusing a profound knowledge and love of the earth with a constant spirit of research. Today, Baron Alessandro de Renzis Sonnino steers the company along this path between tradition and experimentation Castello Sonnino is only 10 min drive from Villa il Poggiale , along the beautifull ancient etruscan Volterrana drive road. Baroness Caterina will be very happy to wellcome you here and share with you her home .
