From the ruins of Pompeii to Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, passing through the glorious history of the Florentine and Tuscan Renaissance, the frescoes are a journey through history without equal in Italian culture.
Sit comfortably under our Renaissance loggia to admire the creation of an authentic fresco up close. Ilaria, painter and lover of frescoes, will show you the secrets of the ancient techniques and the tricks of the artists, while Marco, graduated in art history and tour guide, will guide you in an exciting lesson to retrace the stories and history of this wonderful discipline.
Full Day Option: We can conclude the experience with a guided tour to an ancient abbey immersed in the nature of Chianti, away from the crowds of tourists, where admirable frescoes and a Renaissance masterpiece created by Michelangelo's master are hidden.

The school of the world. Masaccio and the origins of the Renaissance.
Masaccio is universally recognized as the father of the Renaissance in painting, the one who ferried art from the Middle Ages to the Modern Era and who, despite dying very young, taught this new language to the whole world.
Thanks to an introductory lesson conducted in the Renaissance environments of the Villa we will be able to find out everything about this great artist and the places where it is possible to admire his works.
Full Day Option: For those who want, we will be able to touch (so to speak!) Masaccio's work thanks to a guided tour of the Brancacci Chapel in Florence, his artistic testament. A secluded place, away from tourist flows, but immensely important for Western art. We will conclude with a visit to the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella to discover another impressive work by the master and the countless treasures of Florentine art preserved here.

Bacco in Toscana. Discover Tuscany with taste
In 1685 the scientist and poet Francesco Redi wrote a nice treatise on Tuscan wines which he titled Bacchus in Tuscany.
After three hundred years, the excellence of Tuscan wines still enchants the world and excels in Italy. Villa il Poggiale invites you to discover these excellences thanks to a "seated" excursion where you will be accompanied with a guided tasting of the best Tuscan wines - starting from our Chianti Classico and passing through Bolgheri, Montalcino, and arriving to the south of Tuscany- which they will be served to accompany the freshly baked delights from our kitchen, designed to surprise the palate and pamper the spirit.
It will therefore not be a classic wine tasting, but a real journey into the culture and history of Tuscany, through tastes, flavors and anecdotes that only wine and food can tell.
